Pontegadea Inversiones sold its entire 13.7% stake in Portuguese grid operator REN to Parpública, the Portuguese state holding company, Family Office Hub reported on 22 September 2026.

The transaction covered 91,723,676 ordinary shares of one euro nominal value. The agreement was signed 14 August 2026, approved by Portugal's Court of Auditors on 31 August and settled 7 September, taking Pontegadea from 13.7% to zero, according to a REN/CMVM filing dated 8 September cited by Family Office Hub.

Neither party published a price; Portuguese press reports put it near 380 million euros, Family Office Hub said.

REN runs Portugal's very-high-voltage electricity and natural gas transmission networks, the country's LNG terminal and underground storage, and holds international stakes including Transemel, Electrogas and Cahora Bassa. The disposal ends a five-year position for Pontegadea, the investment holding of Inditex founder Amancio Ortega.
