Raffles Family Office appoints Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye to emerging-markets role

The Hong Kong multi-family office said the newly created principal role focuses on the Africa–Asia corridor and reports to Group CEO Chi Man Kwan.

He will be based in Hong Kong and report directly to Group CEO Chi Man Kwan, focusing on the firm's engagement across the Africa–Asia investment corridor.

Uwihanganye was most recently Rwanda's Minister of State for Infrastructure, and before that High Commissioner to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Brunei and Ambassador to Indonesia.

He also served as Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors in Singapore, representing 54 African nations to the Asia-Pacific business community.

Raffles said the appointment reflects its long-term conviction in Africa, which it said is projected to reach a population of 2.5 billion by 2050.
