Reverion has raised a $175 million Series B led by Kembara, according to Family Office Hub. aurum Impact, the investment office backed by the family behind the GOLDBECK construction group, joins as a new investor, with Allianz and KfW Capital also in the round.
Reverion builds reversible fuel-cell power plants that run on biogas or hydrogen, operate in reverse to store surplus electricity as gas and capture high-purity carbon dioxide while generating. That carbon capture is what makes the operation carbon-negative rather than merely low-carbon, the report says. The company was founded in 2022 by Stephan Herrmann and Felix Fischer and is based in Eresing, near Munich.
Reverion reports measured electrical efficiency of 74.2% in live customer operation and seven commercial plants in regular operation at customer sites. Per-unit output has been upgraded to 500 kW, headcount is above 200 and doubled over the year, and the company has a large-volume fuel cell supply partnership with Doosan Fuel Cell, per the same report. Family Office Hub also cites a commercial pipeline the company puts at more than $2 billion of revenue potential.
Direct equity in a growth-stage company alongside institutional capital is a different proposition from seed-stage angel investing. Family Office Hub frames the Reverion position as characteristic of how larger German family offices now invest: direct holdings taken alongside institutional money, with fund commitments running in parallel. aurum Impact, which operates as Aurum Impact Invest GmbH in Bielefeld, describes its capital as patient, flexible and impact-focused, with longer horizons than a conventional fund. Its imprint lists Jan-Hendrik Goldbeck and Jörg-Uwe Goldbeck among the managing persons, and Family Office Hub ties that longer horizon to a company building a 250 MW factory.
